Director of Therapy
I’m Kayla, a licensed Occupational Therapist with over 9 years of experience in the field. I began my career as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and continued on to become a full Occupational Therapist (OT), gaining hands-on experience across many settings. I have had experience in skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, hospitals, schools, home health, and mobile outpatient care. I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals across the lifespan—from infants to older adults—each with unique goals and needs.
Pediatric Experience
I’ve worked with children facing developmental delays, sensory processing challenges, autism, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, plagiocephaly, torticollis, and visual perceptual difficulties. My sessions often focus on building fine and gross motor skills, integrating retained reflexes, regulating sensory input, improving attention, handwriting, and promoting independence with daily tasks like dressing and feeding. I collaborate closely with families to create supportive routines and treatment strategies that work in everyday life.
Adult Experience
I’ve treated adults with a wide range of conditions, including generalized weakness, stroke, COPD, orthopedic injuries, Parkinson’s disease, chronic pain, and hip replacements. I help clients regain confidence and function in daily tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and self-feeding. I also support individuals as they transition home from the hospital by addressing fall risks, mobility challenges, and safety needs, while offering caregiver guidance and adaptive equipment recommendations when needed.
A Passion for Compassionate Care
The best part of my job is seeing progress, whether a child mastering a new skill or an adult regaining independence in their home. It’s truly rewarding to know I’ve made a positive impact on someone’s life through practical, meaningful, and compassionate care.
